About the Feature
IDP Spot empowers users to explore and find data for a particular location directly on a map. It offers a streamlined, intuitive workflow where the user can click on a location, find a list of all data indicators available for that location, and retrieve all the data combined for the selected indicators.
How it Works: A Brief Walkthrough
Map Layers
The map initializes with overlays for states, districts, and sub-districts. Users can zoom in or out for higher granularity and click anywhere on the map to begin exploring indicators for that location.
Interactive Selection
After clicking on the map, a dialog box appears asking users to select the desired granularity (state or district) and the data frequency (yearly or monthly). Once selections are made, users confirm by clicking the Submit button.
Location Identification
The system uses a Geospatial API to identify the exact region corresponding to the selected point on the map. Based on this, it fetches the necessary identifiers to proceed with indicator retrieval.
Indicator Selection
A sector-wise list of available indicators for the chosen granularity, frequency, and location is displayed. Users can expand sectors through dropdowns, check up to 10 indicators, and remove unwanted ones using the delete icon before submitting their selection.
Data Retrieval
Once indicators are selected, the chosen parameters are sent to the backend. The backend fetches the matching data and prepares a preview of the combined dataset with all the selected indicators merged together.
Display & Export
The dataset preview is shown in a table. Users can seamlessly download the dataset and the accompanying codebook as CSV files. If no data is found, a notification is displayed. Navigation options include a Back button to revisit the previous step and a Reset button to restart from the beginning.
